TPV的最大應用領域為汽車配件制造行業，汽車配件具有種類多、總量大的特點，而TPV可采用多種加工手段（如擠出、共擠出、注塑等）來滿足不同制品的要求，目前得到廣泛應用的主要為EPDM/PP TPV和NBR/PP TPV兩大類。隨著汽車向高性能（高速、安全、舒適、節能、環保）、長壽命及輕量化發展，汽車部件特別是汽車密封系統、發動機系統等。TPV在汽車密封系統的應用有擋風玻璃密封條、側邊反射鏡的密封、遮陽篷的密封材料等；在汽車發動機系統的應用包括空氣通風管、軟管、防護罩、防震座墊、軸套等。在其他汽車部件的應用有剎車部件(皮碗、皮圈)和消音部件等。目前，在轎車應用領域，EPDM/PP TPV正以每年16%增長速度取代傳統熱固性橡膠。 通常，按照國際上通用的部件分類方法，TPV主要應用范圍主要有如下幾類: 耐候性密封件:包括動態密封件和靜態密封件。動態密封件有車門密封、車窗玻璃密封、車燈密封及各種邊角的特殊密封等；靜態密封件有風擋玻璃密封、邊窗密封、頂棚密封等。
車廂內部件:主要是轎車車廂內部的各種部件，有各種把手與手柄，如檔位手柄、窗戶搖柄、門把手等；插頭、插座、托盤等。其最大的特殊要求是針對產品氣味的，因為在車廂內對制件嚴格要求無味。另外在著色性能上也要求較高。由于制件形狀的特殊性，多數車廂內部件是通過注塑生產的。 車輛外部件:外部件主要是指乘客車廂以外的部分所使用的彈性體制件，如油箱密封件，前擾流器、整流罩風門片、后視鏡襯墊、車燈密封件、燃油進口蓋、擋泥板等。因為大多是戶外制件，所以一般對耐候性要求很高。
目前，TPV在消費用品也得到了廣泛的應用，主要有如下幾個領域:剪刀、牙刷、釣魚竿、運動器材、廚房等用品的把柄，手電筒外殼，兒童玩具、玩具輪胎，高爾夫袋，計量匙握把、耐熱玻璃容器蓋，鍵盤，食品、飲料、化妝品、衛生浴用品的包裝，醫療用品的包裝，手工具、電動工具、除草機及園藝設備，輪子、握把、蜂鳴器、管件、皮帶、接頭的軟質零件，。消費用品領域之所以越來越多使用TPV，主要是因為:①可以降低制成部件的成本，TPV密度較輕，每個部件的材料用量可減至30%。此外，TPV加工過程中產生的廢料可循環使用。②與部件性能相配的外觀，TPV部件外觀精美，不發粘、不脆裂，并且具有舒適的手感。③復雜部件設計簡單，可以使用多種不同硬度的TPV制備具有在不同部位有不同硬度要求的部件。
